After years of being treating plantar fasciitis, I have head so many recommendations for so many products. My PT therapist mentioned Montague & Son The Birkenstock Store located in Herndon and yesterday I finally dropped by. Located close to Lotte Plaza and Fair Oaks Hospital, it’s a small store but packed with Birkenstock sandals and other ancillaries . I was met entering by a young lady (Ceres?)who took her time to help me decide which sandals would fit and what colors were available (none of mine were so went with second best). She was very thorough, up to the point where another young lady who was obviously a close friend stopped by and then I had her divided attention to check-out. I have my sandals and tried them as directed for an hour first day and the tried the second day. It hurt in the top of my foot and I had to read the reviews to find out why it was hurting. Would have been nice to have been told that by my associate. Not cheap so pay attention in the store. I overheard another associate going deeper into the physical aspects of the sandals so try and see if you can enter, walk around and listen in to conversations to see which associate seem to be most knowledgeable. Hopefully the sandals will break in shortly and I can experience the benefit.

Best Birkenstock store in DMV area. Special shoutout to Tori Kruse. She not only just showed me the different sandals but also explained the difference between different footbeds, different upper materials and helped me choose the right birkenstock for me. She answered all my questions very patiently. She also helped me choose the right insole for my feet. Explained in detail the difference between L2300 and L2305. Very very impressed with the assistance she provided. Ask for Tori whenever you visit this store and you know you will be in good hands!

Hadn’t been to the store in over a year. It’s been updated, bright, and cheerfully greeted by Pat. I have shopped here for decades and saddened to hear the Montague family has retired and sold the store. It is now owned and managed by another local family as Comfort One Shoes. Pat Johnson manages this store, knows her products and inventory, and knew exactly what I wanted. She’s personable and extremely helpful. I’ve never bought shoes on line and never will when the perfect fit is right there in Comfort One Shoes.

I went here after checking Comfort One Shoes on Dominion in McLean. The store in McLean had a limited selection, poorly displayed. The Herndon store was a world apart: very nice selection, not just of Birkenstocks although their selection of those was awesome. Patricia who helped me was great. She knew her products and how to analyze their fit. Yes, their shoes are pricy, but these brands last. I think the prices range from $110 -$300 for boots. I found the perfect comfortable yet stylish shoes for work. Highly recommend and if you have had a less than great experience at Comfort One in other locations, try this one.
